Munster centre Jaco Taute is eager to get back on the field having recovered from a serious knee injury.
The 27-year-old, who was brought to Limerick by then Munster director of rugby Rassie Erasmus, made 26 appearances in his maiden season for the club. However, he injured his knee against Cardiff last September and was ruled out for the rest of the 2017-18 season.
Taute, who completed his financial management degree through Unisa while sidelined, says he cannot wait to make his return against Glasgow on Friday.
‘It has been a long time and I’m not going to lie, it’s been difficult to come back from a serious injury,’ the three-cap Springbok told The Irish Times. ‘Luckily, I’ve been there before and I know what to expect and how to deal with the process. It’s been a long year but I’m fully fit.
‘It’s great to be back and playing rugby and not just rehabilitating in the gym because that gets lonely.
‘I think it is always a special occasion when these two teams play each other. They [Glasgow] are a very good team and they’ve shown that in the way they played and the results they’ve achieved, so it will be tough.’
