Former Lions and Springbok assistant coach Swys de Bruin has been appointed as Varsity Cup side Shimlas’ new director of rugby.
According to a report, De Bruin and Andre Tredoux have been named as Shimlas’ new director of rugby and head coach, respectively, while Hendro Scholtz and Tiaan Liebenberg come in as assistant coaches.
De Bruin had previously served as Lions head coach and Springbok assistant under Rassie Erasmus in 2018. His most recent gig was working as an analyst and presenter on SuperSport.
Tredoux, who coached the Madibaz in this year’s Varsity Cup following a stint in Japan, takes over from Pote Human, who is now head coach of American Major League Rugby side Houston SaberCats.
Scholtz is a former Shimlas head coach and Liebenberg has worked with CUT.
