Lavanini, who is nearing 100 Test caps for Los Pumas, has built a reputation as an imposing tight forward who can provide power in the scrums, mauls and lineouts.
Currently with the Highlanders in Super Rugby Pacific, the 33-year-old has played for the Jaguares, Racing 92, Clermont, Lyon and the Leicester Tigers.
