All Blacks flank Liam Squire has greenlighted team management to include him in the 31-man squad for the upcoming World Cup in Japan.
Squire hasn’t played for the All Blacks since November last year and ruled himself out of selection for the Rugby Championship after struggling with injuries.
However, according to Stuff.co.nz, Squire has now advised the All Blacks’ management team that he is ready to be selected in the World Cup squad, which will be named on Wednesday.
Squire has been impressive in the three consecutive matches he has played for Tasman in New Zealand’s Mitre 10 Cup.
During Squire’s absence, the All Blacks experiemented with their loose trio with varying degrees of success. Steve Hansen chose Sam Cane and Ardie Savea as the flanks in their Bledisloe Cup matches against Australia. While the duo struggled in Perth, they both put in standout performances in the return match in Auckland.
The All Blacks face the Springboks in the first Pool B match of the World Cup in Yokohama on 21 September.
