Sharks, WP top teams in Youth Weeks

WP U16 celebrates Sharks, WP top teams in Youth Weeks

The 2019 edition of the U13 Craven Week and U16 Grant Khomo Week was brought to an exciting end with the Sharks and Western Province respectively crowned as the top sides.

The KwaZulu-Natal side beat Western Province 26-24 in the unofficial final of the U13 Craven Week, while the Cape side had the upper hand in the main match of the Grant Khomo Week, winning 34-10.

SWD was the only other team in U16 showpiece that did not to taste defeat, playing to two draws and a win, finishing with a very impressive 46-20 win over the Golden Lions.

The Grant Khomo Week also saw the introduction of the SA Iqhawe team, with the newcomers winning two of their three matches, justifying their invitation.

In the U13 matches, Golden Lions beat the Blue Bulls 12-0, the EP Elephants finished strongly with a 26-7 win over Griquas, Boland left their best for last and scored a run-away 71-5  win over the Griffons.

Namibia kicked a late penalty goal to squeeze past Border Country Districts with their 20-17 win, Zimbabwe fell short against Border, who posted six tries in their 40-17 victory, the Leopards outplayed the favoured Free State in a 26-12 win while SWD beat the Limpopo Blue Bulls 45-15.
