Sanzaar has announced that coronavirus prevention measures will come into play at all Vodacom Super Rugby venues with games involving the Sunwolves under threat.
There have been 850 cases of coronavirus in Japan and four deaths, which has prompted serious concerns for a country set to host the Olympics Games in five months.
The Japanese government on Wednesday asked for all sporting and cultural events to either be scrapped or postponed for the next two weeks due to an outbreak of the deadly virus.

This puts into doubt the clash between the Sunwolves and Brumbies on 8 March, which was set to be held in Osaka, with future fixtures also set to be reviewed.
‘Advanced discussions have been held to adequately address this recent announcement by the Japanese government,’ the governing body said in a statement.
‘Sanzaar is now working to determine if this match can be relocated. Sanzaar will issue further details on the position of this match and any potential further disruptions in the near future.’
Sanzaar is also stepping up its monitoring of all Super Rugby players and officials in the wake of the global spread of the disease.
‘Daily review and monitoring of all participants is now in place under an agreed protocol,’ the statement continued.
‘Management is in regular and close contact with the National Union Chief Medical Officers [CMOs] who have been monitoring teams within their own territories against national health guidelines and health authority directives.
‘Under this protocol, the CMOs will ensure: the set-up of sanitisation stations at all team venues; temperature checks on all players and staff; provision of contact and treatment plans for each National Union to assist visiting teams; and monitoring of match officials.’
