Stormers and Springbok flank Pieter-Steph du Toit reportedly underwent a second procedure on Monday to drain blood from his upper leg.
Du Toit suffered a thigh injury during the defeat by the Blues at Newlands on Saturday, the Stormers’ first loss of the 2020 Vodacom Super Rugby season.
Because the bruising on his thigh was so bad, he underwent surgery on Sunday night. However, according to a report on Netwerk24, the World Player of the Year had to have a second procedure on Monday to drain blood from his upper leg which was caused by a hematoma.
Du Toit will be sidelined for about two months, meaning he will only return to action in May.

‘We look forward to his recovery and to have him back. He is obviously a huge player for us. The plan was to rest him now [in any case],’ Stormers coach John Dobson told Netwerk24.
Du Toit joins his teammates – at the Stormers and Springboks – Siya Kolisi and Bongi Mbonambi on the injury list. Kolisi will be out for another few weeks, while Mbonambi is likely to miss the remainder of the Super Rugby season.
The Stormers have a bye this weekend, but next face the Sharks in what will be a crucial coastal derby in Durban.
