Brok Harris’ Perfect XV

Published on June 3, 2023

A centurion for Western Province, Newport Gwent Dragons and the Stormers, Brok Harris picks the best of those he has played with and against.

15 Ben Smith
He created a lot of tries through his counter-attacks.

14 Cheslin Kolbe
Small in stature but he has a massive heart! He doesn’t need a lot of space to create magic.

13 Jaque Fourie
One of the best defending 13s in the world. On attack he was just as good at beating defenders.

12 Jean de Villiers
A great guy who led by example. He was able to create big moments when it mattered most.

11 Bryan Habana
A try-scoring machine. Need I say more?!

10 Dan Carter
All-rounder, the perfect rugby player. He was always in control of the game, allowing his forwards to stay on the front foot.

9 Fourie du Preez
The way he could control the game through his execution of box kicks kept the pack going forward.

8 Duane Vermeulen
Incredible all-round player; powerful in all aspects of the game.

7 Schalk Burger
Someone who could put his body on the line, game in and game out. One of the most physical players out there.

6 Francois Louw
Silent but violent. He was brilliant at creating turnovers, slowing down the opposition’s ball.

5 Andries Bekker
Standing tall at 2.08 metres, his athleticism on the park with ball in hand and on defence was brilliant, and he could dominate lineouts.

4 Eben Etzebeth
His physical presence on the field speaks for itself.

3 Owen Franks
A powerhouse in the scrums and incredibly mobile around the field.

2 Richard Hibbard
A British & Irish Lion, he was a powerful scrummager and a good lineout thrower. He was able to motivate simply through his presence on the field.

1 Steven Kitshoff
From a young age one could see that he has a bright future. Extremely strong and mobile with great ball-carrying ability.
