Vermeulen’s journey of discovery

Vermeulen's journey of discovery
Published on June 24, 2019

Springbok and Vodacom Bulls stalwart Duane Vermeulen is on the cover of the new SA Rugby magazine, on sale this week!

In our July issue, Vermeulen reflects on his time playing in France and Japan before crossing the north-south divide to join the Bulls.

The Bok stalwart reflects on the sacrifices he and his family made, knowing this would be required of him to reach another World Cup. One way or another, Vermeulen looks set to travel to that global showpiece as a key member of the Bok squad.

Also in this issue, SA Rugby magazine welcomes former Springbok captain Jean de Villiers as a columnist. He takes a look at what SA rugby can learn from the winning culture at the Crusaders.

We sat down with Blitzboks and Stormers speedster Seabelo Senatla, who talks about the challenges transitioning from sevens to 15s.

SA Rugby magazine also catches up with Cyle Brink and Curwin Bosch, and finds out more about Lizo Gqoboka’s foundation. In addition, don’t miss our inspiring chat with Springbok Women’s player Babalwa Latsha.

Also in the new issue:

– De Villiers writes exclusively for us. In his first column, the former Bok skipper looks at the lessons South African rugby can take from the Crusaders’ hugely successful structures.

– Marcell Coetzee, who has just earned a recall to the Boks, reflects on the trials and tribulations involved in overcoming three knee injuries that threatened to force him into early retirement
