All Blacks midfielder Anton Lienert-Brown has signed a new contract with New Zealand Rugby to take him through until the end of the next World Cup in 2023.
The 24-year-old has also re-signed with the Chiefs in Vodacom Super Rugby until 2023, while he will play for his provincial Waikato in the Mitre 10 Cup until 2021.
It’s a key signing for the organisations, with Lienert-Brown making huge strides since breaking into the professional game in 2014, when he made his Super Rugby and provincial debut.
Still relatively young, he has already had an impressive career to this point, with 43 Tests for the All Blacks and 71 Super Rugby games.
‘Anton has been a standout for the All Blacks in recent years and we congratulate him on his decision to re-sign with New Zealand Rugby,’ All Blacks head coach Ian Foster said.
‘For someone relatively young, he’s been an outstanding and consistent player who I feel is getting better and better. We look forward to seeing more of him this season and beyond.’

Lienert-Brown will have a bigger role to play internationally this year, given the departures of Sonny Bill Williams and Ryan Crotty, who were both in last year’s World Cup squad.
