The Kings are looking to sign Springbok hooker Bongi Mbonambi in a deal reportedly worth R10-million over the course of two and a half seasons.
According to Netwerk24, the Kings have offered Mbonambi a R10-million contract to join their ranks for two and a half seasons.
The 28-year-old has also received an offer of a contract renewal at the Stormers, but the deal the Cape side put on the table is apparently over R2-million less than what he would earn at the Kings.
‘The Kings made a very good offer. The Stormers’ deal is not as lucrative as theirs,’ Mbonambi’s agent Gert Andries van der Merwe said.
‘Bongi wants to stay in South Africa for the British & Irish Lions tour in 2021 and I’m meeting him on Saturday morning to discuss his options.’
