Stellenbosch University are reportedly looking at a former Bulls coach to replace current head coach Kabamba Floors.
Chris Rossouw, who was axed as Bulls backline coach in December 2025, is the frontrunner to replace Floors at Maties when his contract expires on 31 July, according to Rapport.
It is understood that the five-time Varsity Cup winners have not offered Floors an extension and university spokesperson Martin Viljoen said their coaches whose contracts are expiring are “free to reapply for the positions”.

Several sources, however, told Rapport that Rossouw is being earmarked for the role.
Although Maties have performed well under Floors in the Varsity Cup, the ex-Cheetahs and Bok loose forward has clashed with the tertiary institution.
The university disciplined him last September after the 45-year-old was involved in an incident at a Stellenbosch bar in August 2025.
