Worcester Warriors coach Rory Duncan has been given permission by the Premiership side to talk to other clubs amid rumours of a return to South Africa.
The Kings reportedly have Duncan on a four-man shortlist to replace Deon Davids as head coach, with former Springbok coach Peter de Villiers, Samoa’s Steve Jackson and Cheetahs forwards coach Corniel van Zyl the other candidates.

With links between Duncan and the Kings growing, the Warriors released a statement on Monday saying they have allowed Duncan to negotiate a potential move to another club.
‘The club has put in place a strategic plan for the future of Warriors,’ the statement read. ‘We do not envisage Rory Duncan being part of those plans.
‘Therefore we’ve given Rory permission to seek opportunities elsewhere.’
Duncan only joined the Warriors last year, having been earmarked as a long-term successor to director of rugby Alan Solomons. The Warriors finished 10th in his first season in charge, ahead of the relegated Newcastle Falcons and 11th-placed Leicester Tigers.
The former player coached the Cheetahs in their first Pro14 season in 2017, taking the Bloemfontein side to the playoffs where they were knocked out in the quarter-finals.
