Chamberlain set for Sharks debut

Sharks flyhalf Henry Chamberlain Chamberlain set for Sharks debut
Published on August 15, 2019

Henry Chamberlain is set to make his first senior appearance for the Sharks in their Currie Cup clash with the Lions at Ellis Park on Sunday.

Chamberlain, who has played for the Sharks at U19 and U21 level, has been named in the starting lineup as Curwin Bosch will miss the match due to a lower-back sprain.

In the only other change to the starting XV John-Hubert Meyer starts at tighthead prop for Coenie Oosthuizen, who has a ligament injury to his left knee.

Junior Springbok Dylan Richardson has been named on the bench as a hooker replacement and could make his first Currie Cup appearance.

Utility back Leolin Zas is also on the bench, as Marius Louw picked up an unfortunate MCL injury to his left knee in last weekend’s win over the Cheetahs.

Sharks – 15 Aphelel Fassi, 14 Kobus van Wyk, 13 JP Pietersen, 12 Jeremy Ward (c-c), 11 Lwazi Mvovo, 10 Henry Chamberlain, 9 Sanele Nohamba, 8 Tera Mtembu (c-c), 7 Jacques Vermeulen, 6 Phendulani Buthelezi, 5 Hyron Andrews, 4 Ruben van Heerden, 3 John Hubert-Meyer, 2 Kerron van Vuuren, 1 Mzamo Majola.
Subs: 16 Dylan Richardson, 17 Juan Schoeman, 18 Khutha Mchunu, 19 Gideon Koegelenberg, 20 Evan Roos, 21 Cameron Wright, 22 Rhyno Smith, 23 Leolin Zas.
