Vodacom Bulls chief executive Alfons Meyer has said there is a clause in Jake White’s new contract to ensure he remains committed to the Pretoria franchise in the long term.
White was this week officially confirmed as the Bulls’ new director of rugby until 2023, filling the gap vacated by Alan Zondagh, who resigned from the role in January.

It is also believed that White will also take over from Pote Human as the Bulls’ Super Rugby head coach next year.
Meyer told Netwerk24 that the plan was to keep White long-term and prevent him from going down the same path as John Mitchell. The New Zealander was appointed as director of rugby in 2017 but left after one year in charge to take up a role with England as defence coach.
‘We talked to Jake about it for a long time,’ Meyer said. ‘He explained in detail what happened in the past with the other teams he coached.
‘There is also a clause in his contract that will prevent him from jumping to the next best post. We are convinced that Jake is fully committed to the Bulls.’
