Ireland will be without Johnny Sexton, Conor Murray, James Ryan and Peter O’Mahony for Sunday’s Six Nations clash against France in Dublin.
Sexton and Ryan sustained head injuries in the game against Wales and both miss out on selection due to the return-to-play protocols, while Murray has been ruled out after suffering a hamstring strain in training earlier this week.
Flank O’Mahony is out due to suspension following his red card offence in the opening round.
The quartet is replaced in the starting lineup by halfbacks Billy Burns and Jamison Gibson-Park, flank Rhys Ruddock and lock Iain Henderson, who also takes over the captaincy in the absence of Sexton.
Ed Byrne, Ultan Dillane, Craig Casey and Ross Byrne are the new additions to the bench.
Meanwhile, France have made two changes to their starting lineup, with Damian Penaud replacing Teddy Thomas on the wing and flank Anthony Jelonch coming into the back row in place of Dylan Cretin.
